Plenty of time for family and friends, meetings in your underwear, working from the beach with a cocktail in your hand. There are a lot of GOOD reasons to go remote, but it can quickly turn into its own special set of challenges. It&#8217;s easy to find yourself getting behind and overwhelmed. Even lonely at times. You can go from &#8220;Guess what, I totally had that meeting today and I WASN&#8217;T WEARING PANTS&#8221; to \u201a&#8221;I haven&#8217;t talked to anyone but my cat in 4 days and the grocery delivery has specific instructions to leave it on the porch and run.&#8221; I&#8217;ve seen it, I&#8217;ve done it, I&#8217;ve failed, and I&#8217;ve succeeded.<\/p>\n<p>In this talk, I am going to outline the amazing opportunities a remote life has to offer, and most importantly, prepare you for the many new challenges you will encounter. I will share what I&#8217;ve learned in 8+ years of various forms of remote work, and my experience managing remote contractors. There will be tips, tricks, and resources for workflow, communication, isolation and more. With self-discipline and a good strategy for managing your time, remote working CAN be the holy grail.
