It was for a mobile disc jockey business that I started in college. As a student, I didn’t have the funds to afford yellow page ads, so I decided to learn how to promote my business online. Google had just launched and was in its infancy. I had a chance to learn search engine optimization and marketing early on, and these skills have been major factors in my professional development.

WordPress launched a little later (in 2003).
