NILE FLORES: When did you start using WordPress?
MONICA PITTS: 2007
NILE FLORES: What are a few takeaways that attendees will get from your talk?
MONICA PITTS: Saving clients from themselves so you can exist symbiotically and get back to what you love – developing websites.
Techniques to set the stage for a successful client relationship.
Assessing your client’s communication style and tips for exchange.
NILE FLORES: WordPress is turning 15 years old. What would you like to see in the future for WordPress?
MONICA PITTS: That’s why I’m attending WordCamp – my crystal ball broke! As a student of the system I’m continually impressed with the evolution of WordPress. There’s not a functionality mountain we can’t scale. I’m cautiously optimistic about Gutenberg and keeping my fingers crossed.
NILE FLORES: “And just for funsies”, over the past few years, the WordPress community has seen the rise of the cute Wapuu character? Heard of it? And if so, what’s your favorite Wapuu? (Wapuu Reference: https://wapu.us/ )
MONICA PITTS: Rosie is in the lead, but Robert is a close second!
NILE FLORES: What is your favorite area of the WordPress admin?
MONICA PITTS: The post screen. It’s the sunrise of the admin section. The beginning of new posts, the possibilities are endless.
NILE FLORES: What are the top three WordPress plugins that you believe every WordPress user should have installed?
MONICA PITTS:
- Formidable Pro
- Advanced Custom Fields – even though it doesn’t get along with Gutenberg 😉
- WooCommerce – if you need it.
